Sheet Metal as it was meant to be!

Ok, so there is CAD and there is CAM.  Those of you who have read Jon Banquers blog have already been hammered with the term “Integrated CadCam” and the benefits. And why is Jon going on and on about this stuff? Well, because it kicks ass!

If your like me you send DXF files back and forth between your softwares all day long and when there is a change of design… well, let´s do it all over again.

If your in France then your in luck because then you can benefit from the awesomeness that TopSolid’SheetMetal 2012 offers. And if your outside of France… bad luck, because it´s not available outside of France.

If you want a glimpse of what truly inegrated CadCam for Sheet Metal can be like check out this video:

    Is Jon Banquer using TopSolid?

Anyway, there is lots of alternatives to using DXF for fixtures.
I use an old version of SolidWorks, save as parasolid and Edgecam updates the assembly automatically.

I am sure TopSolid has its own innovative selling points, you should be focussing on them.

    HI Dan, thanks for commenting!

I´m not sure i get your point, does edgecam have a Sheet Metal Solution?
As i see it having a fully integrated CadCam Solution for Sheet Metal makes a pretty good seeling point to me as there are not alot to choose from.
The Sheet Metal fabrication softwares i have used are all using DXF import.
I would love to see some more innovative solutions for sheet metal fabrication. As TopSolid, cncKad or others.

No, Edgecam does not have it. Suppose I need it, can I buy it? I work in UK.

Anyway, I might be interested in Milling, this is what I do.So, is Jon Banquer using any modules of TopSolid? If he is not then he has no idea what it is like to use TopSolid.Suppose I would write a review about software I use, say Edgecam. That would be of course an independent informed review because I would point out the weaknesses of the software. Jon Banquer is only excited by press releases. In the past he has praised Gibbscam and Mastercam, after he started using them he turned on them.My point, if you want to look serious keep Jon Banquer away from you. He has been banned from a lot of places. See this http://blog.novedge.com/2007/07/an-interview-wi.htmlDan

One must question the ethics of any company or individuals who would openly associate with Jon Banquer, use him as a spokesman and promote that fact.

If TopSolid or its dealers need the likes of Jon Banquer to promote its product then its product, its dealers and the company itself isn’t worthy of any consideration.
You are known by the company you keep.

    Hi Dan,

If your interested in trying out TopSolid you should definitely get in contact with Richard Nolan (www.nctoolbox.co.uk)!
And be sure to check out the “TopSolid revealed project” over at: http://www.clear-cut.com !

    Typical French company.
    No ethical or moral compass.
    Good luck with Jon Banquer.
    You’re gonna need it.

It is shameful behavior for Missler and its people to use Jon Banquer  as the internet champion of TopSolid.
As time moves forward, we will find that the people associating with Jon Banquer are just like him.

Please see  the  @mtbsoftware account on twitter to see where this hatred for the French, Bill Genc, Missler Software, TopSolid and myself is coming from.  Comments that are hate filled and racist like Tim Markoski (@mtbsoftware) often makes under fake names should be removed immediatly. I would suggest moderating all comments to prevent this kind of crap from occurring on your blog.

Novedge and Franco Folini can no longer sell ZW3D or SpaceClaim because they don’t offer any support and don’t deliver what they promise. I’ve personally experienced the exact same dishonesty and broken promises from Franco Folini and Novedge that many CADCAM companies have experienced who have dealt with him. Franco Folini badly mishandled an interview I grated him after he begged me for months to grant him one. If someone wants to read an honest review of who and what I’m all about I would suggest it should be from someone who has excellent credibility in the CADCAM field like Roopinder Tara does rather than Novedge and Franco Folini who has lost the ability to sell  numerous CADCAM products. What Dan Petre refuses to accept, even though it’s public knowledge, is that anyone who wants to can try the latest version of TopSolid CADCAM 7. It can be downloaded here after registering: http://www.clear-cut.com/?p=823

Richard Nolan has decided to peruse other opportunities for the time being and he tells me he won’t be selling TopSolid CADCAM. I hope he changes his mind.

Richard Nolan is going to focus his talents on selling and supporting SpaceNC which runs inside of SpaceClaim. SpaceNC is developed by the owner of madCAM.
